History of Alum Rock
In 1872, San Jose City fathers were compelled to build a magnificent tree-lined, seven-mile-long brick road from downtown San Jose to the newly designated Alum Rock Park, which was a gift from the State of California to the people of San Jose. This path can be traveled today on Alum Rock Avenue, and ARVBA embraces the historic significance of this route. (click here for more) |
