About Our Organization
ARVBA is a non-profit organization, 501(c)(6), dedicated to serving the business community of Alum Rock, spanning Alum Rock Avenue from the 101 freeway to Millar and Manning Avenues at the eastern edge of Alum Rock Village. The association was founded as the Alum Rock Business Association in 1984. We would like to thank the community for its longtime support!

We currently host two major community outreach and marketing events in Alum Rock Village - the San Jose Salsa Festival held every year in August, and Light up the Village, a December holiday celebration. Any surplus funds earned from events, sponsorships or donations are put toward maintaining the work of the association, support for other marketing events and giving back to the community.
The ARVBA Board of Directors meets on the third Monday of every month. General Membership Meetings are held quarterly on the third Monday of March, June, September, and December. Please visit our Calendar Page for more details regarding these meetings.
Alum Rock Avenue
Alum Rock Avenue is a unique and historically significant area which has attracted visitors from around the world over the years. The Avenue is the gateway to Alum Rock Park, a magnificent natural canyon open to all and to the University of California Lick Observatory on Mount Hamilton where cutting edge astronomical discoveries are made. The Mexican Heritage Plaza at King Road is one of the largest Latino cultural centers in the U.S. Alum Rock Village is a historical shopping area dating to the 1930’s. At its edge is the first Orchard Supply Hardware, a reminder of East San Jose’s agricultural roots.
